WWE fans miss Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief

In recent memory, Roman Reigns has emerged as one of the greatest WWE Champions, carrying the company on his shoulders for several years when other top stars from the previous generation were absent. Reigns has been positioned as the new face of WWE after John Cena. Initially, fans resisted Reigns' push as the company's top star, often booing him. However, his transformation into the "Tribal Chief" in 2020 has solidified his status as the most dominant champion in WWE history.

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns held the WWE Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Championship for a remarkable 1316 days. He captured the title in a triple threat match at Payback on August 30, 2020, when he defeated Braun Strowman and The Fiend (Bray Wyatt). Reigns' historic reign as champion lasted over three and a half years, cementing his status as one of the most dominant title holders in WWE history.

Roman Reigns has headlined the most prestigious wrestling event, WrestleMania, on numerous occasions and successfully protected his championship on many instances with and without the assistance of his faction, The Bloodline. During his record-breaking title run, he has conquered countless WWE competitors to maintain his historic dominance. He has bested the likes of Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Jey Uso, Logan Paul, Brock Lesnar, LA Knight, Daniel Bryan, Sami Zayn and more at major pay-per-views such as Payback, Crown Jewel, Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and so on.

Roman Reigns at WrestleMania

The character of Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief was much more compelling than his previous persona. After adopting this new gimmick, Reigns gained an immense and dedicated fan following that will be remembered for years to come. Every aspect of Reigns' performance was elevated as the Tribal Chief - from his mic work to his in-ring skills. The character was built around the Bloodline storyline, which was cleverly scripted, and Paul Heyman's portrayal of the wise counselor further enhanced the Tribal Chief persona. Overall, Roman Reigns transformed into a far superior character during his run as the head of the Bloodline faction.

Despite the WWE's recent promotion of Cody Rhodes, Roman's defeat at WrestleMania was not a surprise. On the contrary, it was a source of relief for Roman who had a longstanding grudge against Seth Rollins. Roman exacted his revenge by plunging a chair into Rollins' back, ten years after their initial altercation. Though Roman had the opportunity to strike Cody and maintain his title, he chose to focus on his vendetta against Rollins.

Cody Rhodes with his title

When Roman Reigns stepped away from the championship throne, Cody Rhodes assumed the role. Although Cody has competently handled the responsibilities, the powerful impression left by Roman and the Bloodline was incomparable. Fans deeply miss Roman, evident when the same crowd who previously booed Roman chanted "Thank You Roman" during Cody's appearances. Roman Reigns chants could also be heard in France, where fans enthusiastically responded to all wrestlers. However, it appears the French fans long for Roman Reigns a bit more than the rest.

Reigns as the Tribal Chief

The family situation has changed significantly since Roman Reigns left and Solo Sikoa appointed himself the new head of the family. Fans are very unhappy with Solo taking over, as he now has his distinct lineage including Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Audiences vocally expressed their desire for Roman's return by chanting "We Want Roman!" Roman Reigns' absence is felt in current WWE programming, but his hiatus may not last as long as predicted. There is speculation that Roman could be back in the ring within 2-3 months.

The Solo Bloodline Alliance

The Bloodline currently has some internal conflicts and tensions that are yet to be resolved. With Roman Reigns absent, his strong leadership that kept the group united is missed. Fans are eager for Reigns to come back, take control of The Bloodline again, and restore harmony as the undisputed leader. There is anticipation amongst supporters for Reigns' return as the triumphant Tribal Chief to regain the top spot and win back the crowd's support. WWE audiences who cheered for Reigns are waiting expectantly for his comeback to take charge of The Bloodline so they can enjoy WWE programming the way they used to when he was present.
