Pakistani juniors bring silver medals home from Qatar Squash Championship
Two Pakistani squash players have secured silver medals at Qatar junior squash Championship which concluded in Doha on Thursday. Pakistan’s Abdullah Zaman and Ahmed Ali Naz won silver medals after losing in the finals of U15 and U11 categories, respectively. Meanwhile Rayyan Zaman Abdullah’s younger brother lost in the semis of U11 event. It must be noted that Abdullah and Rayyan are sons of former Mansoor Zaman and grandsons of legendary Qamar Zaman.

“Hamza Khan brings Squash junior Championship to Pakistan after 37 years”
Pakistan’s Hamza Khan won WSF world junior squash Championship on Sunday. The trophy have come back to Pakistan after 37 years. The championship’s final match was played in the Melbourne, Australia, where Hamza faced off against Egypt’s Muhammad Zakaria
The last Pakistan to win the Championship was legendary Jansher Khan in 1986. Pakistan’s Amir Atlas made it to the final in 2008 but was beaten.
Hamza fell down in the sajda as soon as he won the match. He also thanked to his parents for endless support after the win. He beat French player Melvil to qualify for the finals on Saturday .
The prime minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciates the squash players and thanked him for bringing title back to Pakistan after 37 years.
“ Their was a time when our squash icons Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan upheld their dominance and bagged one international title after another” he tweeted.
Hamza and other young players like have a great role models to follow, with steadfastness and self application, they would fill in their shoes one day the hoped.
President Arif Alvi also joined the people in praising the young star.
“ I had personally watched many finals among our giants. After a long time, resurgent ray of hope, well done” he said .
