BTS's RM Shines Globally with New Solo Track "Come Back to Me"

BTS's RM has made an impressive solo debut, capturing the attention of music charts worldwide with his new pre-release track "Come Back to Me." On May 17, the United Kingdom's Official Charts, often regarded as the UK equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts, announced that RM's track had entered the Official Singles Chart at No. 80. This achievement marks RM's first appearance on the Official Singles Chart as a solo artist, although he previously entered the Official Albums Chart with his album "Indigo" in 2022.

"Come Back to Me" did not just make waves in the UK. The track has also topped iTunes Top Songs charts in 82 countries, including major music markets like Germany, Brazil, France, and Japan. Released on May 10, the song is a prelude to RM's upcoming solo album, "Right Place, Wrong Person," which is set to be released on May 24. The album will feature 11 tracks and is RM's first solo release since his 2022 album "Indigo."

BigHit Music, RM’s agency, describes "Come Back to Me" as an indie pop song with introspective lyrics that reflect RM's conflicting emotions about embracing new challenges while longing for familiar comforts. The lyrical theme, "Everything comes back, though not necessarily everything," resonates with RM’s personal and artistic journey.

The creation of "Come Back to Me" was a collaborative effort. RM penned the lyrics, while Oh Hyuk from the band Hyukoh composed and arranged the track. Kuo of Sunset Rollercoaster played guitar and bass, and singer-songwriter JNKYRD along with San Yawn from Balming Tiger also contributed to the writing process.

Despite currently serving in the South Korean Army, RM managed to film music videos for nearly half of the album’s tracks before his enlistment in December. This foresight ensures that fans will continue to experience his artistry throughout his service period.
