Blackpink's Jennie

Blackpink’s Jennie has cemented her status as a solo powerhouse with her hit single "One of the Girls," a collaboration with The Weeknd and Lily Rose Depp. The track has not only captivated fans but has also secured a significant place in the Billboard charts, making history alongside some of the biggest names in South Korean music.

This week, "One of the Girls" has spent its 15th week on the Pop Airplay chart, tying Jennie with BTS's Jung Kook for the fourth-longest-running hit by a South Korean solo artist on this list. Jung Kook’s singles "3D" with Jack Harlow and "Too Much" with The Kid Laroi and Central Cee also achieved the same milestone. The record for the longest stay on the Pop Airplay chart among South Korean solo acts is held by Psy’s "Gangnam Style," which lasted 19 weeks.

Jennie's "One of the Girls" has also been a formidable presence on the Hot 100, where it has spent 20 weeks, tying with Pinkfong’s "Baby Shark" and BTS’s "Butter" as the fourth-longest-charting hit by a South Korean artist in American history. BTS's "Dynamite" holds the top spot with 32 weeks, followed closely by Psy’s "Gangnam Style" with 31 weeks and Fifty Fifty’s "Cupid" with 25 weeks.

Despite its current decline on the Hot 100, slipping from No. 90 to No. 97, "One of the Girls" has already secured its legacy. As the song prepares to potentially exit the chart, Jennie's achievement remains a testament to her influence and the growing global impact of K-pop.

The success of "One of the Girls" reflects Jennie's versatility and the global appeal of her music. Her ability to match records set by renowned artists like Jung Kook and Psy demonstrates the significant strides K-pop has made on the international stage. Fans eagerly anticipate what Jennie will accomplish next, as she continues to break boundaries and set new records in the music industry.
